8/5 Thursday
Arrive in Egypt at 00:40
Get a ride to Windsor Hotel. Once rested and settled, wander around getting acquainted with the surrounding area. Find the local grocery store where we can get water, as well as a bank and ATM. Travel to AFS and drop off our big suitcase in their office. If they do not have a place to get ISIC cards then go to the American University in Cairo to purchase one. Maybe see the Abdeen Palace or the Ezbekiyya Gardens.

8/6 Friday
Start off the trip with the Egyptian museum (p183), and eat at Abour Tarek Koshary Restaurant (p120). If end up near Estoril start with hot or cold mezze and then a main of chicken, beef or veal (chicken molokheiya is recommended). Hang out at Horeya?

8/7 Saturday
Pyramids of Giza followed by checking out the Solar Barque Museum (p149). After hanging out at the pyramids and maybe getting a camel ride, head to the Cairo Tower. Belly Dancing at night (p173)?

8/8 Sunday
Islamic Cairo/Khan al-Khalili. Have some mint tea and sheesha at Fishawis (p170) and try some Egyptian Pancakes or fateers (p170). (Spicy sausage fateer is good as well as the honey nuts and cream) See Al-Azhar, North of Khan al Khalili and Al-azhar to the Citadel (p129-135). See the Midan al-Hussein Mosque, Al ghouri and Bab Zuweila. (walk the streets of Palace Walk?)

8/10 Tuesday
Start off with the Valley of the Kings again and go to Deir al-Bahri. Have lunch near the Tombs of the Nobles seeing tombs that interest us. Perhaps see the Medinat Habu and also add Ramesseum.

8/11—Start of Ramadan—Wednesday
In the morning add in Temple of Seti I or finish up any of the other places we have missed.

Return to Cairo on Egyptair flight 354 departing 1:15 PM EEST and arriving at 2:25 PM EEST

Once back in Cairo head to Garden City (p157) and maybe do the felucca ride.

Coptic Cairo (p125-128). Babylon Fort, Coptic Museum, Hanging Church, Greek Church of Saint George, Church of St. Sergius, Coptic Cemetary, Ben Ezra Synagogue, Amr Ibn al-Aas Mosque are all things to do here.

8/14 Saturday
Leave for Mt Sinai on a tour group by bus.
OR
Leave for oasis on tour group by bus.

8/15 Sunday
Climb Mt Sinai in the morning then see St. Catherine’s monastery during the day. Bus back in the afternoon to night.
OR
See the sights of the oasis and bus back at night?
Both of these are tentative and could be pushed back a day

8/16 Monday
Hire a taxi for the day to take us to Dahshur (p204) Memphis (p194) and Saqqara (p198) and hang out at the Step Pyramid (p199) for lunch or eat along Pyramids road (p168). This should take about half a day. Mastaba of Ti, Ankh Mahor, Kagemni, Mereruka are recommended by Nileguide.

8/17 Tuesday
Last full day in Cairo, see anything else we have missed so far, light show at the Pyramids?

8/18 Wednesday
Leave on Austrian airlines flight OS864 at 16:10 (local time) and arrive in Vienna at 19:00 (local time) Stay the night of the 18th at the Pension Dr Geissler.

8/19 Thursday
Meet up with IES at Station Hüteldorf anytime between 12:00 to 14:00. Need a small suitcase with everything for orientation.

Now that you have looked through it, here is my next deep intellectual question (continuing from my first post): what better way to end our Egyptian trip then to see a laser light show at the Pyramids of Giza?
